The best lesson what we can learn from the book ” the Crippled ” by Jagdish Prasad Mandal

In the translation of a book, it is essential to focus on conveying meaning rather than word – to – word translation.

The people of Sitapur like to look after their domastic animals like cow, buffalo, sheep, horse, elephant, donkey etc. These domastic cattle with their different traits and efficacies are used for various purposes. Some animals are used for food like grains, fruits and vegetables.

 

3 –

The way joint families exited in Sitapur in olden day’s is still the same. But it is so only five families. By the way it is not correct to say that only five such families have been living together all these days.

The Brahmins, Rajputs and Muslims landlords had not to pay land revenue. As a result, their landed property was not at stake. They availed the situation and enriched their landed property by purchasing the auctioned land of the peasants at a throw – away price.

After 1940 farming work had a set – back which the farmers of the region gladly accepted. They continued to participate in the freedom struggle and go to Jail with empty stomach.

The country got independence but even now common people did not know the meaning of independence.

Just as family members bid good bye with wet eyes to the person going to fight on the country’s border, Gulabchan had a struggle in his mind between love for the life of his near and dear one and protection of his property.

Being educated and thoughtful most of the teachers regarded themselves as learned section of the society.

By the end of 1945 the stormy movment of 1942 slightly cooled down. The english rulers came to realize that it was difficult to retain the governance.

The darkness which prevails in human society till now is both natural and artificial.

 

11 –

Swami Sahajanand ji played a great role in highlighting and even eradicating the wretched conditions of the farmers. He had his keen eye on their plight.
